Why a cleaning company. Built like a tech company.

Cleaning is a $4B Canadian market dominated by either fragmented small operators (one-person crews, paper invoices, cash payments) or large legacy franchises (low-trust booking, high-pressure upsells, opaque pricing). Both leave a real gap in the middle: customers who want professional execution but also expect the operational rigor of modern software-driven services.

Summa Clean exists in that gap. The booking funnel is built like a Stripe checkout. The crew accountability is built like a fintech audit trail. The pricing engine is built like a dynamic-rates marketplace. None of these are claims — they're explicit operational choices that show up in every booking.

Same founder, same operating principles applied to a different vertical. Summa Lift was the first vertical (heavy furniture and appliance moves). Summa Clean is the second. More verticals follow as the platform infrastructure matures.

Most service businesses are built on the assumption that customers will tolerate friction because the alternative is worse. We're built on the opposite assumption — that removing friction is the differentiator.

§ 02Operating principles

The five things that don't change.

Specific products will evolve. Pricing will adjust. Service categories will expand. These five principles stay.

01Discipline

Cleaning is a profession.

We treat the trade with the seriousness it deserves. No sparkle copy. No casual exclamation points. The crews are professionals; the platform reflects that.
02Transparency

The price you see is the price you pay.

Itemized quotes. No hidden surcharges, convenience fees, or 'service charges.' Surge, when applied, is shown explicitly. Recurring discounts auto-apply. No upsells at the door.
03Documentation

Everything timestamped, photo-logged.

Crew arrival, scope changes, completion — every event in your booking is captured in the audit trail. Disputes resolve in minutes because the evidence is already there.
04Predictability

The same outcome, every time.

Standardized training, standardized scopes, standardized accountability. The crew you get this week and the crew you get next month should both produce the same result.
05Restraint

We don't do what we can't do well.

If your job is outside our scope — clinical biohazard, industrial cleaning, restoration — we'll refer you to specialists. We'd rather not take a job than take it badly.
06Local-first

Ottawa-built. Same standard everywhere.

We started in Ottawa to build the operating model. Expansion to other Canadian cities follows the same operational template — not a franchise license with quality drift.
§ 03Behind Summa Clean

Founder & operating team.

Arton Sallahi

Founder & Managing Director

Arton brings 25+ years across construction and technology. He founded Fortek Technologies Canada in 2017 (an AI-first digital transformation consulting firm) and Still at Home in 2025 (Ottawa's white-glove aging-in-place managed service). Summa Clean is the latest application of the operational discipline he's built across both companies.

Background includes leading software development teams across North America and the Balkans, running construction and renovation operations across Ottawa, and building service businesses where the operating model is itself the product.

§ 04The Summa portfolio

Multiple verticals. Same operating discipline.

Each Summa company operates an independent service category, but inherits the platform infrastructure, brand standards, and operational principles.

01Summa Lift

Heavy moves, white-glove.

The first vertical. Heavy furniture, appliances, awkward-fit transports. Same booking-funnel discipline, same crew accountability, same transparent pricing — applied to a category notorious for surprise charges.
02Summa Clean

Cleaning, taken seriously.

The second vertical, current focus. Residential and commercial office cleaning operated as a craft, not a chore. Built to scale across Canadian cities while maintaining the same operating standard.
03Future verticals

Adjacent service categories.

The platform supports any service category where operational discipline matters: detailing, window cleaning, post-event cleanup, specialty services. We'll add what makes sense, when it makes sense, not before.
Located in Ottawa

Built in Ottawa. Engineered for elsewhere.

We started in Ottawa because Ottawa is small enough to operate with personal accountability and large enough to validate the model. Five service zones, one anchor property-management partner, one operating team. Every process is documented to be replicated.

As the model proves out, we expand to adjacent cities — not through franchising (which dilutes quality), but through direct operations under the same brand standard. Toronto, Montréal, Vancouver are the obvious next markets. The expansion timing follows operational readiness, not VC pressure.
